Name
How to make your own patchwork jeans with Elle Saunders from Lela Blue (EDT - PLEASE NOTE TIMEZONE)
Description

6:30pm - 8pm EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME

Making the perfect pair of patchwork jeans is the perfect D-I-Y project, and a wonderful way to give new life to that well-worn pair of jeans that you just can't seem to let go of, as well as repurposing old woven clothing or woven fabric that you may have laying around. Patchwork denim is super cute, and a staple piece in any boho babe's closet. I've seen them sold at major retailers as designer pieces for as much as nine hundred dollars! Why pay retail when you can sustainably make your own?

In this class we will go over fabric selection, cutting up patches, placement, sewing, and how to care for your garment.

Supplies needed for the class

  1. Pair of jeans
  2. One to four pieces of old woven clothing or woven fabric scraps. You can be as creative with color choices as you want. If you choose woven clothing, make sure that you are okay with cutting those things up. The idea is to repurpose old or unsalvageable things that you are no longer using. Pieces or scraps of woven vintage fabrics, old woven bed linens in a pretty print, or old woven printed curtains are excellent choices as well.
  3. One empty glass or cup in whatever size you want.
  4. Heavy Duty Sewing thread in two different colors of your choice.
  5. Embroidery thread in two different colors of your choice.
  6. One pair of sharp scissors.
  7. One piece of cardboard approximately 8 inches by ten inches in size
  8. Ruler
  9. Pen or fine tip marker
  10. Straight Sewing Pins
  11. Embroidery needle
