Double knitting is a fascinating parallel universe to the world of single knitting. Join Lucy to discover to explore what double knitting can be and the amazing feats you can achieve with it. We'll look at how to work basic double knit fabrics with either or both hands and what are the best projects and yarns to hone your skills with. We'll cover the mechanics of shapings and look at the breathtaking single yarn double knit pocket trick.

Nothing is necessary as this is a lecture format but students can bring the following:

Optional Homework Swatch We will be aiming to create a fabric with both outside faces in stocking stitch, and the two sides in different colours. Have on hand two small balls of solid coloured, brightly contrasting, similar weight, sport - worsted weight yarns in Cols A and B With Col A, cast on 20 stitches. Work one row of (k1, p1) rib. Leave the yarn attached.
