Fabel Knitwear was founded in 2017 by Helene Arnesen, and has grown into a full-time bussiness of patternwriting, handdying yarn and sourcing the most beautiful haberdashery. PATTERNS I focus on designing feminine, romantic and timeless knittingpatterns, often inspired by vintage- and historic shapes, silhuettes and details. My patterns are written so you get the best of both worlds - vintage elegance and modern practicality! They come in both Norwegian and English, and I strive to offer an inclusive range of sizes (although I can always do better - get in touch if a pattern is not available in your size!) YARN My yarn is handdyed in my Fabel Knitwear studio in Oslo, Norway. I offer a variety of bases, from lace weight to bulky. • Athena, my gold stellina fingering weight, is my bestselling base. If you're anything like me and love a bit of sparkle, this is the yarn for you! Perfect for anything from socks and shawls to garments. • Ask is my deliciously rustic Norwegian non-superwash sport weight. This holds structure beautifully and is perfect for cardigans, sweaters and kofter. This is a sturdy yarn that will last for years! • Elder is one of my absolute favorite yarns. It's a non-superwash DK-weight merino that is perfect for garments. It has gorgeous drape and structure, and is just SO cozy and nice to work with. • Geillis Tweed is my go-to DK-weight when I want an instant vintage look. This Donegal Nep tweed is soft and silky, and has the perfect vintage aesthetic. • Maple is my bulky merino. It is perfect for accessories such as hats and mittens, or even garments if you really want something cozy! • Mohair Silk is my lace weight kid silk base. I adore the way it takes colour, and it's perfect to knit on it's own, or strand with other yarns. The combination of Mohair Silk and Athena is pure magic! • Bouclé is my absolute softest base, and consists of 89% superfine alpaca and 11% polyamide. It’s perfect for holding double – or even triple!, and held with other yarns. HABERDASHERY I design and collect opulent, historically evocative buttons - perfect for you knits! All these products, weither used together or separately, evoke the timeless romantic aesthetic I continuously work towards creating.
